Mono-prints are my first love....they usually arise out of a dream-like state. I become interested in a particular form or pattern that might come from thoughts, dreams or emotions and I doodle in my journal until the idea 'gels' and might be made into a stencil, or a set of shapes that can be drawn directly on the plate. A great deal of 'play', investigation, and experimentation takes place; adding papers, changing colours, sequencing differently, deleting things and changing tools. Eventually I come up with a series in that particular theme. It is all amazing and fun.
